Ghialy Choy Lee Yap
Ghialy is doing a PhD degree in Tourism Economics at the Edith Cowan University which she will complete in June 2009. She also works as a tutor at the Economics Department in the University of Western Australia.
Ghialy attended the PhD Conference in Economics and Business at The University of Western Australia in 2005 as a Mannkal scholar. Since then she has attended several conferences; namely, the 2008 Council for Australian University Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) Conference at Griffith University, Australia; the 2007 International Congress on Modelling and Simulation (MODSIM) Conference at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand; and the 2007 CAUTHE conference at the University of Technology, Sydney.
Ghialy has written four conference papers, namely:
- “Uncertainty in the demand for Australian tourism”, presented at the CAUTHE Conference 2007;
- “Modelling interstate tourism demand in Australia: A cointegration approach”, presented at the MODSIM Conference 2007 (To appear in Mathematics and Computers in Simulation);
- “Intrastate and interstate tourism demand in Australia: An empirical analysis”, presented at the CAUTHE Conference 2008; and
- “Tourism forecasting using conditional volatility models”, presented at the CAUTHE Conference 2008.
