Meet our internship scholars!

Hannah Berdal

The Mannkal Scholarship programme helped to accelerate my career in more ways than I could have ever imagined. It provided me with an incredible platform to challenge my critical thinking and analytical skills, develop international networks and mentors, and most importantly helped me gain the confidence I needed to pursue opportunities that I thought were beyond my reach. I really cannot thank the Mannkal scholarship programme enough for the experience.

Receiving a Mannkal scholarship opened many doors for me to explore the world of opportunities that existed beyond the classroom. I completed an internship with the Atlas Network in Washington D.C., where I learned from the most inspiring scholars and built a professional network which continues to support me. This initial scholarship led me to further opportunities with the Cato Institute, the Charles Koch Institute and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, where I am now employed. I have been published in Forbes, Open Market, and George Washington University's Regulatory Studies Newsletter. Living and working in D.C. could not have been possible without Mannkal.

The Mannkal Scholarship propelled me half way around the world, to Berlin, to complete a two month internship at a globally renowned think tank. I now work full-time in Berlin in consulting to the e-commerce industry. My valuable Mannkal experience was a stepping stone that has allowed me to build a life and meaningful career in Germany and I will be forever grateful.
